You have already made the point that it can be what you want it to be. Mine is: Urban for stop/start stuff or very wet, 100hp Touring most of the time, fairly default with high throttle Sport for if I'm really pushing on and the tarmac is smoother, slightly firmer with higher preload by a click or two Enduros for track: high preload to get ground clearance, min TC and no ABS and firm ride.
For me it's Urban mode for starting from cold, town riding, traffic jams, wet roads, and shopping trips. Sport for everything else. Never use Touring. The display is set to show a full rev counter in all modes.
I have used Enduro a few times. Basically we have done maybe 100 miles & then go over the tops where the roads are hardly made, I find it great as by now my boney backside is starting to ache. As soon as we come off those roads i go back to Touring. As a few of you have stated,, i will be changing the touring mode for full power to get rid of the lurching at cruising speed.
Use a multi enduro. So far done 6500 km. Ecu loaded with latest update. No lurching or surging. Make sure you use proper high quality fuel. These are Italian horses. Took the termi full system route as I was baking in town and was not pleased with delivery in midrange. Now much better bar the excess noice. More economical too. Initially gearbox was not by and a pain to find neutral. Use motul 7100 full synthetic 15w50. Much better almost slick now. I have sport and touring in high engine response and use suspension in sport front and rear to softer setting as was too choppy.
There is an option during service to synchronize throttle bodies and injectors through diagnostics as well.
Hi All, After a year with my (non-S) Multistrada, here are a few things I have discovered: Suspension: The standard rear preload is way too hard and the standard front preload is way too soft. I now have it sorted after reading through other comments. Throttle: I just have the standard pipes, but the recent 9,000 mile service transformed the throttle action - it's now much more crisp and responsive. Modes: I run Sport mode all the time, it's more fun. I would regard Enduro as a useful tool for tweaking to create your own personalised mode. Oil: The bike just does not like being left on the sidestand for any length of time and will burn oil and run erratically for a good while afterwards if I have neglected to set the bike up on the centrestand.
Well some more. Went out over weekend did 250 miles. I turned the Touring power to full as Wayne 58 recommended & yes he,s right the bike is tons better at low throttle openings. No more jerkiness through villages. He also mentioned the front preload. I checked mine today & it was 1 turn in. Set it to 5 turns in & put tywrap on fork leg to see the difference in dive. Work it from there. Well 950 miles on clock, goes in thursday morning for 1st service, Full termi system & upmap. They are also going to fit & wire my Garmin for me. see how much slower it is with new exhaust fitted. Also on a winding smooth road i give it big licks past a truck & got a massive front end wag, not quite a slapper but enough for me to buy extra bog roll. Looking at steering dampers now. Very expensive as they fit round fuel tank filler cap.
Yes Wayne was thinking that today when realised you were right about the front leg not been set up at factory to any kind of mid position. Why the hell don,t the dealers tell customers or set it up for them. I know why they cannot afford a 19mm socket. Got socket, extension & ratchet in back box to set up better on the road.
+1 set up the suspension first. I have ridden mine on bumpy tracks and even then, while it goes light and can weave a bit on the brakes, it doesn't wag its head enough to need a damper

I'm not sure why some dealers don't make the buyer aware of pre-load on the front, but do recommend a few ride outs changing a little at a time or maybe even a pro setup (£50-£100) before buying a damper. This is my 3rd Multi, its ridden fairly hard, and its never concerned me enough to consider s damper. Glad the high throttle sorted it for you, will be interested to see your views on the cheap and cheerful pipe you're putting on this week
I had a lot of slappers on my old cbr yrs ago. No not female. It was just a big wag while the front wheel was in the air. As it came down it straightened up & all was fine. Think iv,e too much cash in pocket, keep looking at goodies. Even the fancy seat covers from Italy, full tarts handbag.
Well had the bike in for 1st service & exhaust fitting. Not had chance to try it properly yet due to evening traffic, but 1st impressions are the power is about the same. One thing though is how smooth the throttle is now. It now says RACE in the gear position window when i sw on goes off after a few seconds. As recommended by wayne 58 & others i had wound the preload down on right fork 5 turns to start with & attached a tywrap around the leg to see the difference in dive. It now dives about 15-20mm less than before. Dealer said they don,t need any preload set as the Skhook takes care of the settings ???. I don,t know about that but i have now wound it down 1 more turn to 6 down & will check again. When riding the bike today i did,nt really feel any difference on the dive or comfort. Will keep trying.
Not so sure about that...if so, what have an adjustment and mention it in the owners manual weren't talking about rear preload were they?
Well yes as it was all part of the package. Anyway took baffle out on my way out tonight. & it was worth it just for the sound.
I was pointing at the front while talking to him. I've been out all day on 17 plate demo bike & I can't tell any difference from mine.
