Last minute shopping - what else would anyone be doing today? Drop round to see an old mate and his family later. Pack my bags and off up to my sister's for the next couple of days to drink,eat and laze around (not necessarily in that order). Happy Christmas everyone.

Got to go out and do some last minute Christmas shoplifting and got the traditional rotten cold. Can't smell or taste anything, coughing and wheezing and feeling like sh*t. We are having our Christmas dinner today because Caroline's daughter has to work tomorrow(RAF Nurse Officer). Hellcat...............I feel your pain but remember you are surrounded by mates here.

Im cooking my wife a special Christmas Eve Dinner.... kind of a tradition in our house.... Menu is potted shrimps - home made (making clarified butter i've discovered is a form of mysterious alchemy), braised lamb shanks with an orange and port wine jus, served with green beans, and fig puff pastry tartlets and potato dauphinoise, followed by profiteroles filled with chantilly cream and drizzled with choccy sauce.... all prepared from Scratch. Washed down with a nice bottle of red.
Just finished an 86 hour week so off home now for a shower. Then off to the outlaws later for tea and a couple of cheeky ones. Have a great Christmas everybody and roll on the spring I'm in need of an El T and Matt46 ride out

Same here : i ll be going for the fresh lobster with a duo of sauces ... the leak, sellery and carrot infused white wine and bisque cream sauce or the cleared butter confit of garlic and sjalots ; crushed black pepper and green herbs. A confit of leak and potato mash with sautéed spinnage on the side as a starter it should be consomme of bisque wit a slice of scallop, some goose liver on toast and a carpaccio of scallop with a dressing based on japanese vinnigars and lime zest... all showered down with some bollinger bubbly and a white haut smit laffite bordeaux i hope will still be good.. yep, the weight has to come from somewhere! adding another tooth on the rear sprocket should compensate
As a publican I'm working, but the town brass band comes over and plays carols, whilst we dole out free mince pies/sausage rolls and mulled wine, then Santa turns up and gives pressies to all the children in the village. We fund raise throughout the year to make this happen. Nice way to start Christmas.
Got into the city centre for some presents and supplies. Totally over done it and I'm completely spent now, but everything is done. Now going to wipe myself out with cheap sherry and mince pies. Had to get some stuff from the garage, so had a slightly melancholy moment looking at the Ducati knowing it will be 2014 before I can throw a leg over it again.. the Honda accord just doesn't have the same excitement about it, good as it is.
I, my daugher and my mss are to my mother in law house in sicily for Christmas and we're all having a very busy (and actually very hot, we're around 20 C today) Christmas eve, rushing for shopping and with all family women busy cooking as we're going to have a whole Army for dinner!
