Help! Monster 1100 Evo Won't Run With New Clutch Lever

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Lefthandtwist, Aug 24, 2017.

  1. Hi all,

I've got a bit of a weird problem with my Monster - I've replaced the clutch lever with a pattern part (which seemed straightforward when I was doing it!) and now the bike cuts out as soon as I put it in gear. Anyone have any idea what I've done wrong?

    Cheers,

    LHT

  2. Side stand down?

  3. The lever should have a small roll pin protruding to operate a micro switch under the master cylinder that lets the ecu know the clutch is disengaged. Look at the OE lever you took off. Andy

Thanks Dan - much appreciated mate.

And thanks Android + rwc. Cheers guys. Well pleased I joined this forum already.

  6. Well at least it was a quick and easy fix my man! Glad I could help!

  7. We've all been there at some point so don't worry, could be worse, you could have ridden off forgetting you have a disc lock on

  8. Sorry. The only thing to Trump side stand is kill switch off.

  9. It's only my mental approach to starting procedure that has stopped this happening to me, as I am the perfect candidate. Has happened to a couple of mates including one even calling out the AA !( or equivalent) I think he might be along in a minute :upyeah:

  10. Yep, done that a few times
