Rossi Broken Leg

  1. I heard Merkel is willing to save it, as long as she can have an HRC factory ride for next season.

  2. Did you hear the crowds when Marcs engine blew? that surprised me, but it was very funny. Great racing. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and Rossi showed once again, how good he is, and why he is still so high in the championship. Real shame about the leg, but off road skills pay dividends on the track at the limit, maybe this is one area where VR thinks he can improve? More likely he was enjoying himself doing the only thing he enjoys......

  5. Yup, I was cheering too when his engine popped. Watching the race back on TV though (did I mention I went to Silverstone on the Duke :grinning:) it would have been better for Rossi if he had stayed in the race and tangled with Dovi and Vignales. Assuming he was in the mood to race fairly of course. Hmmm

Public voted with their feet when it came to merchandising too:-

He had a superstore as well. VR46 bikinis and babygrows were available and there was a queuing system to get in!

  6. I see that Cal has severed a tendon in a finger in sympathy.

  7. And on a knife no less. Maybe he should man up and get his missus in the kitchen doing the cooking (says me who does all the cooking or we'd be eating beans on toast for ever) :joy:

  8. Why are so many people fans of Rossi? I mean I respect the guy but why support him over dovi?

  9. Longevity, character, the draw to the sport, talented etc etc etc, but don't shoot the messenger, I'm a Marco fan for all time, now there is a character !!!

  10. Bit like why support Chelsea as they are today's team when you've supported Man U even through the very baron times of the 79's and 80's.

New fans like him because old ones do, and he has some form of personality :upyeah:

  11. I remember when foggy was racing in wsb, as a human being then he wasn't a nice person (by his own admission) but as a racer he was fantastic and once he left wsb I lost all interest in wsb. I might watch a tv race from time to time.

That's what will probably happen when Rossi leaves, I will just probably lose interest in moto gp too

  12. I like Rossi, don't get me wrong, but he's one bloke and its still the pinnacle of 2 wheeled motor sport, so I don't get why you'd stop watching a sport you love cause one bloke leaves ??

  13. Two years of baron times ? Seems a bit harsh to lose faith after that ;)

  14. For me and judging by the support, Rossi is moto gp in the same way at the time, foggy was wsb. i like watching it because they are/were in it.

  15. Is it Uccio Knew bee ?? Are you gonna miss him ?? :D

  18. I don't watch it for Rossi. I watched it before he came and I'll watch it when he leaves. Historically I've enjoyed watching Schwantz, Doohan, Stoner, more than I've ever enjoyed watching Rossi.

I like that he brings a crowd with him, purely for the sight of full grandstands. But of today's riders, I'd rather watch Marquez on a bike any day of the week.
