  3. Aside from the engine launch tomorrow (7th Sept) at Misano, now looks as if Ducati are planning to unveil the bike to a closely controlled number of people on the Sunday (10th Sept) according to their Facebook page. I cant help wondering if this is damage limitation after the leaked image this week, since they will doubtless have read some of the negative feedback it is getting. Makes no sense to unveil the engine "sound" and then the bike three days later. What happened to all the teaser videos we have come to expect. That or Bologna HQ are rapidly re-thinking the launch itinerary.

  4. The launch may be moved forward to the IAA show in Frankfurt with Audi, from 14th-24th Sept, as they did with the Monster 1200R, but I doubt they will be able to move that quick.

  5. You could be right @Topolino

The picture leaked looks like its real. but could be an elaborate photoshop at the same time...but from whats being discussed here and on the other forum...could all be a made up spin too !?

In saying all that, IF the bike is the actual final product, Ducati may forget about it. You couldnt call the design / styling lines controversial, more bland and japanese-esque ;-\ a huge blunder allowing some "corduroy hipster frapacino" to pen a flagship bike ! particularly when Ducati are in effect not producing the same bike their heritage is built on, a twin engine !

EDIT; On Ducati site it says the bike will be available to view by grandstand ticket holders this Sunday 10th.

Odd, as you say no teaser videos etc...

  9. This looks even more fake than the previous one. People are even posting up pictures of the D16RR engine and claiming it as the new "Stradale" engine. The net's gone mad! One Italian over on the US forum is adamant the Mugello pit garage picture is the real deal. I can only hope that it is a genuine picture but with bodywork on it to throw people off the scent. Thats what I keep telling myself anyway! Perhaps we'll see another decent spy shot by Monday if the bike is going to be at the mercy of another mobile phone.

  11. well at least they've found a sensible location for the rear shock unlike the joke positioning of the Panigale units

  12. They can't all be photoshop so I am going to go out on a limb and say that's real... look at the detail of that shock placement even down to the electronic control wires.

  13. And now this

  14. nice one @Freak wonder where the pics came from ,location wise. Not much to go on, apart from white pani in background.

Im no bike designer, look of the rear seat unit and other parts dont flow or have form to me....

hard to believe that Ducati screwed up with all these leaks on such an important model bike, considering the company is now gone away from their twin engined heritage.

A new era and this is what we get...?

  15. Engine unveiled now on FB on the Ducati page, Dovi, Jorge, Pirro, Gigi all in attendance.

  16. interesting, so... no cylinder head mounts like the 1299 which suggests no monocoque and further supports the leaked images of the bike. Also clutch casing the same which means whoever photoshopped it was physic and there is only one starter motor which doesn't suprise me as half as not all the pistons are under compression on the same stroke and those that are, are much smaller. They can do the auto-decompressor thing perhaps but no other V4 1000cc needs it so not surprised.

It does have variable intake ducts though, which Aprilia have moved away from for this year actually, as they stated that with the latest electronics it's not needed.

  17. I would think that shock is going to get quite warm with all those exhaust pipes round it

If Jorge is there does it have the mamba valves in it ;)

  18. it will kick ass big time :upyeah:
