The jap riders don’t come into Europe either, and stay as specialist out there. Been watching a bit of endurance this year. When you think that in one race they cover more miles than a BSB rider does all year, including testing, qualifying and races, if I ever return to bike racing I, having a go at that.
Did one endurance race a while back... in go karts. About 2/3rds into my hour stint I was gasping for a drink and my pace dropped for about 7-8 laps before I got a second wind. They must be super fit machines to do their share of 8 hours on a bike.
How about 24 and all night...two of the top 10teams last weekend were 2 riders only (injuries) and each rider was doing back to back stints.
Endurance racing is ace! I did the no budget for the years it was here, and have done the Jurby endurance a few times. Odd though, you have to think about it in a different way
You may have raced the Moto Corse guys then, incl Tom on his genuine factory 888. It’s a piece of art.
They did most rounds a few years ago, if not all. Would have been a Ducati team, mix 996, 1098 etc. He has a couple iirc, SP road version and full fat Corse race bike and used both
If it was 996, then I'm definitely claiming it was the one I got at Angelesy in the wet in 2010... (most satisfying pass I ever made, stalked him for a lap, got close in the first part of the corner complex, positioned myself to get the line for the second, and out-drove a big twin in the wet )
