Father Christmas brought me the money to buy a new screen for my bike. I have mixed views on the fitment of the parking light (originality vs cleaner appearance) and wondered what other members thought. I will definitely go for a clear double but I'm still 50:50 on the light !
I've got a tinted screen without the light on mine, which I personally think looks miles better. I actually hate the parking light!
I also think the parking light is an abomination, and really the only useless thing on the bike. My preference would be for a clear screen without the light.
I have smoked screen with the light. It's less noticeable with the dark screen. The bulb actually has to be kept in place with duct tape or it drops out and dazzles you at night. So not only is it useless, it's also a hassle. Sadly, the strange Swiss expect it to be there when they MOT your bike so once you've got it, you're sort of stuck with it. They are odd like that.
The side light on the early 749 looks like they designed it and then went, oh forgot about the side light... There you go that should do it.
Didnt think mine looked to bad, i had the clear DB screen so you could see the back of the Bracket aswell, kinda quirky i thought, i liked it
JC749 sold me my screen, so I am afraid I don't know who made it or where it came from. I'm very pleased with it though, as it is the right tint of smoke (pretty dark without being ridiculous), it's a little taller than the stock screen, but not much (suits me, as the stock screen doesn't direct any wind blast at me as it is) - lower screens look better. I actually like the parking light in the screen. I've put a super-bright LED in mine and use it as a running light for extra road presence.
