Slides ( transparencys) to digital photo is this possible?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by CRYSTALJOHN, Dec 28, 2012.

  1. I have just found 4 slides of my old Triton that I built from the early 70's, can anyone let me know if it is possible to get a digital image from these, and how to go about it.
    Any advice much appreciated.

  2. take it to a pro printing digital shop who will scan them HI RES.. from there on you can Pshop them all you want..

make sure they save them as raw ( NEF) or TIFF or JPG files on lowest compression.. !

Don't expect mirales though.. colors can be adapted but resolution and grain are much harder...

    succes

  3. Or you can buy a little unit that does it for you and you save them to your PC. My father in law has one that eerily got him years ago, it works pretty well for home use.

  4. You're absolutely right but I strongly recommend going pro in this one :)

  5. I've got an Epson scanner (somewhere in the garage) that has a transparency scanning facility, not used it for some time but capable of decent quality scans. If you're local or in the area I can dig it out and have a go for you.

  6. Many thanks for your advice, much appreciated. I will try to find a pro printing digital shop in the near future, if I don't have any luck I will give you a pm Dukedesmo.

  7. I too have one of those little units nutty nick mentions. My mother gave it to me when my dad died. All his photos are on slides. I really must get round to doing them.
