hello chaps and ladies ,the fist pick is the bike when i bought it as a none runner it had been stood in a garden for three years , i got it running quite quickly the pipes were put on a 620 and sold ,i have now put Dan Moto pipes ,and before this mod the bike would not reach the 100 mph mark only around 95, it has a k&n fitted it just seems to run out of go ,ive also changed the sprocket configureation from 15 x 46 ,3.07 ratio to 14 x44 ,3.14 ratio this should make it a bit nippier and a small loss of top end but the results are just the same ,any ideas anyone many thanks DB
I had a 600 monster quite a few years back. It would ride up to 85 and then no more At the time I was at a loss but since discovered that some of them are restricted
The 600 is carb'd so no ECU. If it is restricted for say A2 then the restrictors are either in, or under the inlet manifolds.
I've a 620 and it's good for 125 ish ( if you believe the speedo, but I think pretty close) and is very peppy up to the ton. As said above I know some get restricted for a2. It should piss past 95
No idea if still available. Very old bikes. Suspect if anywhere to will be the states..google is your friend? Expensive tho: used can be £200 per set. I raced them, never saw the need tbh. Jetting, air filter and exhaust make the massive difference...mine went 45hp to 52 hp by adding a stage 2 filter with modified lid, think it was a stage 2 jet kit too, and making the fuelling suit the term open cans. Same dyno, same day. although max power at 8400 iirc, found changing gear at 8k meant more drive due to where it fell into the torque curve. The DP ing meant some guys were pulling 9500 although I know most would still change at 8500 and max power I saw tested at the track was 57 (although suspicion of other parts in the engine )
Big holes at the front is using it on road or if track mainly just take it off. The stage 2 kit iirc is actually too tall to have the lid put back on. If dry day only bike just remove it. But jetting/mixture needs to work as there is a lot more air
