A £13K 350LC from..... THE BIKE SPECIALISTS, TRADING STANDARDS AWARD WINNERS Mileage 1 (but it's been fully restored??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-RD...967531?hash=item2f0b88a56b:g:~GcAAOSwLApZvQxv
Forgive my ignorance, but are they worth restoring to that condition and therefore that price? Are they a really special/ rare bike?
Someone was after a low mileage 2004 749R ??? Here's one that fits the bill perfectly (apart from the price) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-74...172455?hash=item2f0bd81127:g:KWAAAOSwdPBZxMvV
Are the dead flies really a selling point or would you clean them off? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-...490744?hash=item2edd8cd838:g:UNAAAOSwrhBZL8wA
They could be any old flies, too. Unless they're able to offer DNA evidence that they're the exact flies he hit on the TT, what they're offering there is the chance to own a dirty bike. That said, at that price I'm assuming they've got sworn testimony from fly witnesses.
The gixer I bought arrived (fella had it delivered) and was a right filthy mess. Probably should have walked away on that alone! I spent a couple of hours with Mr Sheen yesterday on the parts I’m selling.
That firm "carspecialists" specialise in asking ridiculous prices for whatever they're trying to flog - probably on the basis that it only takes one newly retired rider wishing to revisit his youth and with a nice lump sum in his bank account, to bite and they've paid for their next world cruise. Most of us recognise that a nice LC can be had for half that (not mine I hasten to add )
there are some brave souls out there.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-350-SCRAMBLER-1960S-1970S-MODEL-Restoration-Project-OR-For-Parts/122740729184?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=1&asc=20140725134205&meid=ffb42eec4bc94b4fa414c85f324c50b1&pid=100277&rk=1&rkt=4&mehot=pp&sd=282679473099&_trksid=p2060778.c100277.m3477
I would say there is more LC's in the country now then when they were first introduced in the 80's, (so rare bike no) this is due to just about every LC in Germany/France etc now registered in the UK, i have restored many over the years and they are great fun, This bike is not worth 13k even with 1 mile because it has been restored, would have been best left as is because if 1 mile is true it would not have had a hard time and sold for around 8k (assuming never registered or 1 owner) the seller is not giving much away in the description ? best go buy a restored one which will look the same with a newly built engine for around 5k and had about 18 owners and then have some money left for a lifetime of Wotsits
I would like just the engine, even without the internals, just to aqua blast it etc and put it on display in the lounge but then it would probably still cost to much just for engine shell.
If it wasn't for the fact my boiler, fridge/freezer AND power shower have all decided to break in the same week I'd offer him £1k.
