Sure, Verlicchi never made a fiber frame.I took a look to the photo on pdf Vignaroli (Corse CAE manager) gave me on seminar he did in university and it is a GP06 upper frame by Verlicchi (the engine was already stressed body).
Sorry man, trying to be clearer: GP06 frame was already splitted in front frame, having engine as stressed element with rearset, frontframe and swingarm fixed to that. Sorry for the picture is the tablet shooting my kindle, this is Corse material for mechanical engineer seminar That front frame was built by Verlicchi And this doesn't make it a less Corse part in my opinion

though i dont know how you went off on the tangent of gp frames.......why doesn't the 749RSFO (remind me what it is this time?) have the extra ties on the frame......surely that would of been a factory option along with the front mountings for the tank and the bigger airbox a la 999 FO.... surely if the factory are going to build one they will use all the technology available to them....
I went off to gp frame becouse even if built by Verlicchi and holding a huge Verlicchi logo and stickers they are still (as the fairing we were talking about) factory parts for factory bike. About you question the answers are: they exists both, the factory made for internal breil team and the ones built by corse and sold to SC to race with Corse technicians like any proper RS for official supplied team For the second question is again that simple, they cant by rules. Remeber that WSS doesn't allow that changes, and actually at that time not even datalogger was permitted, so they use it during tests and free practice and took it off for qualifying and race
