916 amended, though for what I know not... https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24131/lot/312/?category=grid&length=36&page=7
I remember seeing both Laverda's and several of the Ducati's in 2010 in the private collection of the Japanese importer in Tokyo. This included the 450 Desmo, the two 750F1's and the 400F3's, as well as the MV750S. At the time the 750F1 had 4793Km on the clock which would explain why there is significant additional tax to pay on top of the hammer price to make HMRC happy. When visiting the collection I was told that all the bikes ran, but didn't get run very often, but no idea what happened to them since 2010, but if the 750F1 is still below 6000km then clearly not much use at all. Mr Bimble
Yes I read about the mileage and additional 20% vat tax +15% with vat on top for Bonhams! You have to be careful bidding as the final price will be near double the hammer price!!! Crazy a 1980's bike is deemed new enough for vat with less than 6000 miles!
The seller pays 15% I think and the buyer pays 15%, which is why that 916 should have been sold on here before being signed up! Vat on both fees too.
If anyone is bidding on this off here we should let each other know. I would happily back out if that was the case It isn't the top of my list (a Yamaha is!!! )
I notice the 916 is listed as being supplied with a spare boxed set of magnesium wheels, I presume this refers to the 3 spoked wheels in the photos? Didn't know that these were ever made in magnesium? Always willing to be educated though.
Just found this - evidently confirmed as Magnesium further down the post. http://www.ducati.ms/forums/11-ducati-motorcycle-chat/64994-ducati-marvic-wheel-identification.html
