Tricolore

  1. Hi all, I’ve got a query for you. Should I get an agreed valuation for my S4RS Tricolore for my insurance? I’ve just renewed with MCE and posed the question, they asked me how much I thought it was worth and I told them but asked what they thought, they would be guided by me was the answer. However, should the worst happen and I make a claim I wonder what their answer will be then. The bike is in good condition with a service history, 11k on the clock and a full Arrow titanium system. Any ideas of value?
    Cheers

  2. Agreed valuations is a proces used in the classic world. It's because prices can vary so wildly and there is no bible to find a price from.
Modern vehicles are much easier. Insurance companies will look at a dealers price guide come up with an offer and make it. If you think that is too low then you research places like auto trader and find examples you think are on a par with your vehicle and haggle with them
You would be wasting your time and probably money getting an agreed valuation because if the worst came to be they would ignore it and do what they always do

  3. Tricolore’s are worth more than a standard s4rs and are quite rare and becoming collecable . Perhaps you should ask this question on th uk monster owners club forum as they would probably have a fair idea of the bikes worth.

  4. I have done similar to what Exige suggests, i.e. take screen shots of autotrader and similar to show what the asking price for such a bike would be. the rarer the bike, the longer you will wait to find an ad with one in, but worth screengrabbing if you can find an ad and sending along with your paperwork.

  5. Good suggestion that, something I may well start doing myself :)

  6. Better still, watch Bonhams for one coming up as it will be twice what it’s really worth :upyeah:

  7. There were only 37 in the country when I bought mine so finding another for sale is unlikely
