  1. You can always email the DVLA............I found they respond within 24 hours and if they need additional information from you they will ask for it, or tell you how to get answers to your questions.

  2. I don't understand why the OP took there driving license into a police station to have the points put on in the first place. The only time anyone would need to take it to a police station is if they have been issued with a producer by plod at the roadside. Otherwise it should always be sent directly to the DVLA along with the fixed penalty notice so that the correct points can be added.

  3. In the olden days...

  4. Maybe you want your licence back, you'd be waiting a long time for a license.

  5. I was issued with a producer by the plod at the roadside.

  6. License was completely clean. I have changed address, however i filled in the correct new details on the paper version when the paper & card version were handed to police in local station. (It has not been posted to my old address - I know who is living there now.)

  7. Thanks, email sent today. Cheers for all advice.

  8. i suspect that at the time the EFPN was issued the OP didn't have his licence with him. So to complete the EFPN he was required to produce both parts of the licence at a police station, was then give the slip from the bottom to act as a licence until the original was posted back with said points endorsed...some forces still work that way.......my lot dont do fixed penalties anymore its just a thing called a CT10 where you are reported for whatever offences

  9. That's exactly what happened.... Just still waiting for license to be posted back some 5 months later! Hopefully my email to DVLA will throw some light on its whereabouts.

  10. hhhjesus, do you not have a more local licence office ( i know where the nearest is to me)

secondly, have you passed the 6 months period from the time of offence.......just maybe if it hadn't been heard or sorted it may be beyond prosecution now...........

  11. thats just me making assumptions.............

  12. The offence was at the end of August 2012, it is now approximately 5 months so 1 month left.... However as i have already paid the FPN fine online will they still be able to add the points after the 6 months prosecution deadline?

  13. UPDATE....

I have recieved this rather 'blank & devoid of detail' letter from the Metropolitan police. FPN information request 001.jpg

The serial number of the FPM is correct, but why are they asking me questions about the vehicle reg, the date time & place, the serial number of the police officer/traffic warden and the offence code? (all questions that THEY SHOULD ALREADY know the answers to!)

Is this part of the process of getting your license back? or are they fishing for information as they have not processed the paperwork properly?

My initial thought is to wait until after the 6 month deadline then send it back with 'unknown, I cant remember' in all of the spaces they request information.

Any advice especially from people who have had a form like this sent to them in the past.
