As with all geometry changes , first ensure sag is setup correctly for your riding weight . This may require different springs if you can’t get there with preload adjustments This will give you the best starting point before considering dropping / raising the forks in the yoke , or cranking up the height on the rear , by linkage adjustments or winding on more preload Incorrect (too little) preload on the front , will make the bike turn quicker as it will sit lower than it would with correct preload , springs The skyhook controls damping mainly by measuring differences to 2 reference points at each end of the bike. One on the sprung mass and one on the unsprung , so raising the fork in the yoke by a few mill isn’t going to be any more of a problem than insufficient front preload
I think people forget that all new bikes are set up for an Average, especially when it comes to weight, and set up with more safety in mind, so I think some minor adjustments here and there will benefit some riders for sure.
Several Dealers have told me to take baffles out of Termi as it lets the engine breath better, and better for bike
You see, thing is. When Ducati look into the future, design the next desirable, sexy red missile they don’t imagine 18st fat cnut astride their beasts. I remember when I went for my Smt, I asked them could they set the sag etc with me there. First thing the Herbert said to me was, and I quote, “first thing we’ll need is a heavier spring”. Cheeky fooker. Still bought it. I’m not 18st either I hasten to add.
I would never consider dropping fork legs. Already had 2 big twitches during hard acceleration. Dropping front would make that even worse.
