search youtube for Mike Spike Edwards, he has a great tip for getting them square using a coat hanger/thick wire, could explain but can't be arsed but its quite obvious when I saw it
Yeah I use the Motion Pro gauge, was about a tenner iirc and looks more cool in my tool box than another bit of wire

haha nothing wrong with string for holding calipers if it ain't too hairy! Not so sure about a wooden subframe though... bit heavy for me
Necro dredge; this work properly done is not simple, but it is not advanced rocket science either. Let everyone know who the shop is; a motorcycle shop that does that sort of work literally kills people in wallet and on the road.
