A few years ago I got a flu which turned into pneumonia - while I was in Washington DC, USA. Took 6 weeks and three courses of antibiotics to clear the infection and another 6 weeks before I felt right again. This winter I was offered both a flu (virus) vaccination and a pneumonia (bacterial) one, so I accepted both. Really anxious not to get the pneumonia. Perfectly OK so far.
Yup, the flu ain't funny at all. I take an annual flu jab too. Mate of mine died of pneumonia this time last year.
My dad recently had an op in early December where he caught HAP. it was on his discharge papers and it comes up as Hospital acquired Pneumonia. With this Aussie flu I've caught I have been avoiding him since Friday before x mas in case I give him something he can't recover from at 79. It's frustrating as I normally see him a couple of times a week but it's too risky to take a chance.
I had the flu over xmas, it was the real deal. I blew my nose and got pissed, woke up 2 days later, feeling shite
Still not well and to top it all my wife now has the sniffies, probably just a cold.... I might have to get a nurse or an au pair (French or Italian or Russian). Always wanted one, but felt it was a little too pervy since we don't have kids.
SHIT... hope you have a fast recovery. 4Flu tabs.... loads of hot drinks (helps your body fight) and keep hydrated. This flu is great for Slimming and having a Dry January. Don't try and do stuff..... Just veg out to a box set on Netflix.
Chest is tight and on fire and got an annoying dry cough. Nose can’t decide whether it’s going to block up or run and I can’t control my body temperature. Still went into work yesterday and had to go into town this morning but bed beckons now. Andy
