  4. Looks like a lovely car, you will have loads of fun! It took me 9 months before I found my porsche, but then I was holding out for one of a certain spec and any which came up were being snapped up quickly. Luck would have it my local porsche indi got my car in stock and I bought it within hours of them putting it on their website.

  5. Took me about an hour to find (and buy) mine. Wife picked me from Humberside Airport, instead of going home (I'd been traveling all night) I said lets go straight to Sheffield OPC. A 997.2 turbo had popped up on their system that morning, the second one that year, and it was December 5th. I stuck a deposit down to seal the deal subject to viewing. Picked it up Christmas Eve 2015. No fucking about!

  6. I did a similar thing when I bought my 350z. I went to dealer to look at an M3 one Saturday afternoon, happened to see a 350z Roadster sitting there and decided there & then I wanted one. Did about 20mins research on them on my phone whilst the wife drove us home, and found that the later 313hp HR models were the best. Did a search on autotrader and found just 3 within 100 miles of my house. Called up Nissan Birmingham and put a reserve on the one they had, drove up there the next day and did the deal. Nothing like impulse buys!

  7. I sense that my funds being used on this toy purchase may be more of a household impact than yours was ;)

  9. well done Bradders! had a shufty at it when you put the link up (not with a view to buying, just out of curiosity). like you, I know little about these cars so this thread has been enlightening (actually, I probably know considerably less, given all this "996", "997" malarkey threw me as I thought they were all just 911!)

looks like a really nice motor, and I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun with it (and not lose too much dosh on it)

it's a lot of money to most people, so I understand your cautiousness, but as you have Mrs B onside now, you seem to have crossed all the major hurdles (mind you, how much will it take to insure?)

  12. Well, as my 4yrs ncb on a van doesn’t count (!) looking like £380 so probably cheaper than the 1098R I nearly bought in December :)

  13. Incentive for next contract;)

  14. Hardly got a penny to scratch my arse with mate. All tied up in boys toys. Been in a couple of situations I didn't think I was getting out of- changes the attitude towards life- fucking enjoy it while you're fit and able!
Yeah, the mortgage is slowly ticking along and I'll sort that later. But there's a few years in the old dog yet- yee haaa!!
    Car looks nice btw, enjoy!

  15. Love it :upyeah:

Being I don’t have a pension building any more, if the plan works this will be one of a few things that I can enjoy owning and using then, when the time is right, dispose of. Well, that’s what I told the Missus ;)

  16. Hope you don't regret this impulse buy bradders ;)
Gorgeous looking car mate, wish I had one :upyeah:

  17. I didnt tell my missus when I bought my 997 turbo. I just said id bought a new car, it was black & 4wd. It wasnt until I rolled up in it that she realised it wasnt the Range Rover she was imagining. :grinning:

I refused to tell her what it cost, afterall, its my money not hers or joint cash. And so she turned all Miss Marple & found my car for sale on autotrader and then went mental when she saw the price.

  20. I followed a 911 Turbo down Hartside a year or two ago on the Multi, that thing could accelerate and grip the road, no problem keeping up but there was no way I was going for the overtake.
