1200 Enduro Dilemma 2 - Ducati Mts 1200 S Or A Ducati 1200 Enduro

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by ducati7, Oct 15, 2016.

  1. Hello People, I made up my mind and decided to buy a DVT MTS 1200 S{appreciate all inputs at Link}, went to the dealership and my dealer asked, why not "1200 Enduro", just a difference of 1000 GBP here in India. Please suggest, what will be better, a 1200 S or an Enduro.

    Namaste

  2. Entirely depends on what you want from a bike: ridden back to back, the Enduro feels larger and more laid back - closer to a GS on steroids, while the DVT is more nimble and turns faster. Both ride very well - if I were doing a cross continental trip on less than great roads, I'd go for the Enduro. For 'European' conditions and winding up sports bikes, then the normal DVT. Stock seat is a lot better on the Enduro though. I did a fuller write-up at Low-Flying Bastards: The Ducati Road Show | Ducati Diary

  3. Have you tried one?! It's huge!! And while I'm sure it's great in road, larger front wheel ime gives a very different (worse) fast road riding experience

Not ridden one (can barely ride a std one!)

  4. Sadly they dont have Enduro for test.

  5. Enduro bigger fuel range & easier tyre changes,..tis a heavy beast though!

  6. Depends if you are tall enough - for India - the Enduro may be better - because last time I was there the roads were not uhh - Perfect lets say..

But you need long legs for the Enduro

  7. I'm guessing that because you're in India you'll have ridden an elephant. If you have then you'll be perfectly placed to ride the Enduro as its just as big as an elephant. ;)

  8. Indeed. He is obviously referring to the Cagiva Elefant, an earlier incarnation of the same concept now reincarnated as the Enduro ...

  9. Lol...infact I do own one, you are most invited to come down for a test ride. Btw, I think Enduro is too large for city riding, what say..

  10. You own the bike or the animal?

  11. hahahahahahah, you guys crack me up.
My 2 cents is get the DVT 1200S. Great Bike, more nimble. Especially in India where you can rely so much on the other drivers behaving road rules/manners. A nimble may be a life saver. Thats was my experience 3 years ago anyway. Either way , good luck with the purchase.

  12. Neither of them Simon.... :tongueout:

@LeDuke, sad but true....traffic sense is a concern in our country, but surely its improving.

  13. Changed a Multistrada 1200S for an Enduro in September. At just under 6' I have changed to the lower seat which allow much easier foot placement. No problem in traffic. Overall a more comfortable bike.

  14. Hi Lester
I'm interested in your post as I've just taken the leap from my 2010 S Touring (19000 miles, Croatia, Picos, Sicily, Portugal trips included) to something which I felt was more comfortable and 'rounded' in the Touring. I'm 6ft dead and am a tad worried about the seat height when fully loaded, raining and just not having the 'planted foot' feeling. What's your view in the lower seat? Do you have any pics of it fitted at all? I'm going to fit my Garmin 590 & Navihalter to it this w/e plus tyre sensors if anyone is interested to know more?

  15. The seat looks identical - there are two alloy locking screws to be removed/resited but that is the only fiddle. I don't think it has any adverse features though not tried to cross the sahara with it. It isn't as nimble as the MTS but is very stable.

  16. hey guys,

I've just bought an Multistrada Enduro after much testing on other bikes from similar adventure spec over the past few months. I loved both versions of multis but what swung it for me was that I'm over 6'4" and legs like a giraffe. I found the foot to seat height easier on the Enduro than on the 1200s (even with the raised seat height). What seems strange so far is that when I look at the bike it looks huge but when I'm on it it feels just so right and doesn't feel what it looks like (i.e a big heavy bike) to me. However, its all subjective and whats good for me may not be good for you so try and be honest with yourself in so much which bike do you really want and which feels the most comfortable and does what you want.

    Cheers
    A

  17. Be careful rocking it off center-stand after filling it up.. the 32.5liters of fuel you can fill it with adds top heavy weight. Get the big side-stand jobbie & silicon seal all those hub spoke holes for a much eaiser cleaning routine.

  18. Hallo A,

    Groet G

  19. hi! I just got one after 1500km I can say it s very handle fast and absolutely stable! I love it!

  20. Please...What’s the big side stand jobbie ?
