Oh well, I'll carry on doing my own servicing for the prices Main Stealers charge in that case I nearly wavered for a moment though
still waiting for a reply on one of my bikes,,its only been a year! Ducati uk you need to get back to customers!
Wow. Thats a lot different to my experience back in 2000 when I had a valve drop into the piston on my 500 mile, 4 month old 748S. Neither the dealership nor Ducati could care less about it. My indi looked at the damage and said they could have it fixed within 2 days but as it was under warranty id be better off taking it back to the dealer and have it fixed for free. The dealer took 3 months to fix it, leaving me without my main means of transport for all that time. Neither Ducati or the dealer would give me any sort of loan vehicle or compensation. I had to chase the dealership on a weekly basis for any updates and when it was finally ready they had to call me to check what exhaust system my bike had on it as they couldnt remember which one they had taken off.
As we speak about it, the bike went back in again. It was a problem detected from beginning, but I decided to have a few tests. The Key fob battery keeping running flat. Used different brands of batteries, kept the key fob further distance from bike at night and even tried one of the extra long life dealers batteries (their suggestions of try). Well, 7 batteries in 5 months, they agreed something else needed to be done. Again, the booking in was easy and over emails. They offered a courtesy bike, which I accepted a bit appreensive of coming back my 35miles way home in a 125cc, but betther than paying a taxi or using the awful public transport of the Southern part of the country. For my surprise, the courtesy bike is an absolutely enjoyable ride. Also, I have already had the reply from them that Ducati is sending a new key fob. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YfyObVkeij1086EETHq2Ne1iIxVR4eAv https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gzOsYhQ-aFD7nkX53dfNXETdk0EuVrHj
It may well be. In the case of my key fob, P&H run a test on their workshop and soon decided to call Ducati. They replied on the same day that a new key would be sent. (And P&H also called me back on the same day to let me know).
I have been an owner for a few months only, and would not say I was particularly impressed with the Ducati customer service attitude. My Multistrada that was 6 months out of warranty developed the infamous fuel sender issue (on the sender that has been already replaced under recall). I tried approaching a dealer who said that because it was already replaced there was nothing they could do (apart from charging for a new one), because they have NEVER seen the failed replacement sender. Quick google on Ducati forums finds tons of cases with people on their 4th or so sensors - so clearly this is a known problem. Not happy with the dealer's stance, I tried emailing generic customer service in the UK, but there was no response for over a week; after that I emailed the whole Ducati world, including CEO and a few other execs, and only then the UK customer service condescended to respond to this problem and (rather reluctantly) instructing the dealer to change the part they knew has some inherent design flaw. On the one hand, I am pleased that my problem was solved, but I am not sure it was a good sign I had to get to these lengths in order to fix a well known problem with an almost new bike...
I was continually ignored by Duc Manc regarding my fogging hedleets. I got pissed right off with them and won’t buy another from there. Mentioned it at Duc Dublin when it had its first service and they were replaced in a fortneet. They still fuckin fog up though. Don't know why dealers have different attitudes, weird innit. Mine don't need the brake recall.
well, that was exactly my thinking... "Ducati as a company are good, it is all because the dealer was not helpful" - but surely a good company would have given a clear guidance to their brand representatives (dealers) on how to treat customers who spend thousands on their product. I have not heard anyone saying that McDonalds have great burgers in principle, but it is just some shops don't cook them well...
Hi, I have an issue with a broken chain on a multistrada with 9k damaged the engine, Did Ducati help much with costs?
How old is the bike/chain, still under warranty, bike serviced in accordance with schedules at authorised dealerships etc? Have you still got the chain as evidence, only of use if its been well maintained though,
I think dealers can make the difference for sure. Hall's in Springfield, IL always treat me great, and have come through on various recalls and warranty issues on my 1200 with no fuss, no muss. A friend of mine has a KTM, and I've heard good things about them, but the dealer he is forced to use (about 2 hours away) is not very good, and the headaches have convinced him that will be his last KTM.
Hi, bike is 65 plate with 9000 miles, only had for just over a month from a main Ducati dealer. I asked for the chain to be checked prior to delivery, but they doesn't want to know anything now, the engine casing was damaged as the chain went round. I'm upset as you can imagine. I have contacted Ducati, sent all the info, just waiting for a reply.
