Hi guys, bought my 1st Duke, 600 SS 1995 model. 7500km on ODO, Jap import... Great ride.. love it.. sadly i now have to do the Clutch...... slipping.. What oil should i run? Fully Synth? Steve
Welcome convict! I'd avoid fully synthetic oils on the wet clutch models as this can give clutch slip. They're great bikes, I'm hoping you don't have the same problem we do with rotting exhaust pipes!
If it said that....the thread title would have to have read New member for the Penis colony...... Welcome by the way....but be warned the lunatics have taken over
Sorry Dave, I have to disagree with you. I've used fully synthetic in Pantah motors before and had clutch slip as a result, which has gone with a change to semi-synthetic.
Yep - had to put semi in my DD bike because the clutch would slip too much. It's happened on two different bikes I've ridden as well. Oh and welcome, I'm in Sydney - where are you Steve?
Melbourne guys. Yeah we are all Bruce, Jeremy. Ok I've chosen to run Mobil 1 VTwin. My clutch seems to be shagged. So I've ordered a new one. Seems sitting for 10 years plus with no use did it no good. At least when I change it and belts ill know its done. Slips more when hot. Which points to hydraulics. So changing the clutch line to nylon braided. I know from my volvo's that rubber hose internally collapse. So replacing it. Perfect day here today. 30 deg. Slight breeze and the mountains are calling me. As soon as my ex grabs my boys ill head out on the mighty GS450 Beast. Steve
