848 Rear Sprocket, Renthal Or Supersprox ????

  1. Looking at buying a better quality rear sprocket for my 848 to compliment the new D.I.D ZVM-X chain I have purchased.
Renthal ticks the boxes as it is light and looks good, but expensive once you combine it with a new carrier at £39 + £105.
Supersprox is possibly longer lasting, and heavier than the Renthal but almost £15 cheaper at £128.
I take it the Supersprox comes with a carrier at this price or does it fit the original carrier ??
Can't get a decent look at the Supersprox set up as all I can find is a foto of an R6. (Sportsbikeshop)
Also, is it worthwhile renewing the Cush Drive , 15,000miles ????

  2. Renthal are a known quantity.
Not sure if the Supersprox has a carrier - perhaps call the supplier?

  3. I’ve got supersprox on my s4rs. There’s no seperate carrier. (As in quick release)
I’d be getting a new front sprocket, for what they cost, so they all bed in evenly.
A bit overkill, but i put AFAM poly cush drive bushes in.

  4. Sorry, should have explained the whole story.
I bought a D.I.D chain and sprocket kit but was sent a front sprocket D. I. D. ZVM-X 525 chain and a VX 525 chain , no rear sprocket , so thought I'd treat myself to a lighter better looking alternative to the JT steel sprocket I will eventually be sent.
Supersprox Stealth does look good though , and cheaper than Renthal sprocket/carrir combo.

Cheers for the replies, think I'll get the Supersprox Stealth.

  5. I’d pay the extra 15 quid and go Renthal.

  7. Unfortunately the supersprox stealth sprocket I ordered is not in stock but I could wait 6-8 weeks, I think not, so I'll need to find another seller of Supersprox or order a Rental sprocket and carrier.
Since I would be changing the carrier, Polly a good idea to change the Cushion drives at the same time. I have searched for these Adam rubbers shown above but can't find anyone in the UK, only ones I have come across are on eBay for around £70 , but postage is £46.
Anybody point me in the direction of a UK based company that can sell me some? ???

    Thanks in advance..

  8. Cush drives should be fine, I’ve never had to replace any on any of my bikes.
P.S. you need to sort your autocorrect!

  9. Renthal for me. Used them on several bikes for years now. Once you have the carrier, you just need to change the chain wheel when the time comes. 30 quid a time. Easy to change the gearing, once fitted you can change sprockets without pulling the carrier off to.
