1199 Remap Options

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Deano84, Apr 19, 2018.

  1. Im weighing up the options for my 1199 in a hope to improve the snatchy throttle as I'm getting frustrated that the slightest movement at low speed causes it to lurch forward! I can feel it hunting even when the speed is constant.
So far I've seen a lot of talk about the rapidbike module which gets good reviews and seems to improve what I'm having issues with.

I also see people have custom maps and wonder if this would be a better option and if anyone knows of anywhere in east anglia or within reasonable distance that do them? Only ones I've seen are moto rapido, cjs racing and Jordan bikes which are quite a trek.

Also does anyone have the option from Bren tuning fitted? They get a lot of praise for their s1000 work (mainly in the USA) and I see they offer a handheld unit for the 1199 now so you can flash the map on at home.

I'm sure any of them will be an improvement I'd just like as much feedback as possible to help me decide.

  2. Cjs in Bristol or moto rapido.

  3. Rapidbike evo

  4. Moto Rapido did mine. Excellent job, very pleased with it.
Yeah it was a trek for me too, but definitely a worth while one.

  5. 41-42 rear sprocket and a Motorapido remap... You'll be in love.

  6. I've had good luck taming the beast with an exhaust and rapidbike evo, If you can speak to a rapidbike retailer and have a good conversation with them and tell them what you want. The people in Australia have been good over the phone with all my questions and I haven't had to take it to anyone ( I live in the middle of nowhere).

If your a bit handy yourself all you need to do is wait by the post box.

  7. Rapidbike Evo on my 1299, fueling is spot on as you would expect given that it reads off the lambda's.
This is with stock evhaust, I now have Akra's Panigale dyno.jpg

  8. I have done about 200 miles now with my rapidbike and it feels a lot smoother and definitely more responsive than before. It was instantly better by a small amount but now is even better once its had time to adapt to the bike.

  9. Thanks for the responses so far, good to get some feedback. Moto rapido is a 4hr trek and cjs even more so was hoping for something closer. Have found a place locally that can remap and uses woolich racing stuff so I'll have a look in to that. He had an 1199 himself and seemed to know exactly what I meant when I spoke about my issues and he's confident he can sort it.
If that doesn't look the best option then I'll order a rapidbike evo or trade it in for an rsv4 :joy:

  10. Did you use the Woolich racing & what is the result

  11. Please guys anyone have knowledge of procedure & if any taxes etc in registering my 2012 Ducati Diavel when moving to Swansea in New Year . Thanks

  12. The most important document you need is the Certificate of Confirmity that would have been provided when the bike was first sold. Try the forum search function as there are several posts that share other people’s experiences of trying to register an imported used bike in the UK. Andy

  13. Is this a common fault with 1199s? Mines going great..

  14. Not just the 1199. Some riders work around it by changing sprocket sizes, some get an aftermarket gizmo, some get a remap some just put up with it. Andy

  15. I fitted the throttle spacer kit and that got rid of the snatchy throttle for the most part as the free play is no longer there.
I’ve got Akra’s on the way and will be getting a custom remap at Jordan’s once they’ve been fitted. I’ll wait until January now though as they always have a sale on remaps then.

  16. I already have the throttle spacers fitted, slip on terimignonis and the upmap. Running smooth and pulls from nowhere

  17. My 899 is getting a TuneBoy remap with cruise control very soon.

  18. I only have experience with the RB Evo, fitted to the 1299. but the Hunting was solved immediately, and the power delivery improved also after a few short rides and accepting the Auto trim changes. Although many will say that a direct ECU reprogram is the 'better' solution, i didn't want to be tied to one dealer, and like to get a little hands on, and see what changes are made and the difference it makes to my seat of the pants dyno.

  19. I have RB Evo, Sprint filter +3 teeth on the rear and a decatted 1299 system... Its a far more enjoyable bike, that behaves better at lower rpm.

  20. I know this is an old thread but I am interested to know if you ever got your re-map done Deano84? Did you go to BSD in Eye? Mine is in there at the moment to cure exactly the same issues as you describe on your 1199.
