I have a 2012 1200s multi, and I still have an issue with no sign of life at all. I have checked all the fuses and the on/off switch. the battery is kept charged with a decent ctek charger and showing good 12.9v. So I have decided to removed all the panels to check that all the connectors are ok and that I have power in the right places. I got the lower and side panels off along with the beak. I cant get the front headlight fairing as I cannot get the connector to the instrument panel off can someone guide me as to how to do this please thanks all
4 stud screen or 3? Not for the same problem but had to replace screen mount (#2), which meant getting access to screw #9 above (which needed the Dash to move). Mine is a 2013, and not too confident with this type of thing myself so I used the spare parts catalogue to get an exploded view of all the fittings then very slowly and gradually took things apart until I got access to the screw labelled #14 and nut #16 in the diagram, from memory the screen etc was all off already and iirc I could just about get my fingers through from the front to squeeze/release the clips on the connector. Ymmv as it’s a 2012, but I got to it - I did feel very lucky when it all switched back on as I was a bit worried it wouldn’t work at all. Good luck with the fix if you get it apart. This was a few months back sorry so a bit distant to remember every step.
Thanks for the response. It's the connector that I can't figure out. I can get my fingers through the top and can just about access the connector. I just can't see how to release it. I can't see any tabs to squeeze or pull?
Ok sorry. Mine had tabs from memory, I checked the notes I made at the time (and I only really note things that are complex/I’ve never seen before) and there was nothing there - have to leave for work soon but will have a look on the way and see if it jogs my memory.
Had a quick look - tabs top and bottom, maybe needed gently levering out, but nothing untoward. Maybe yours is different - hopefully someone along shortly with more info.
thanks Handtoknee I finally got the clocks off. didnt find a resolution to my problem which I will post up in a separate thread
