959 Ducati 959 Uk Exhaust Question

Ducati and Akrapovic do not sell the y piece on its own. This y piece. 1299 down pipes have a valve in which is hassle.

I have a 959. The slip on would include this y piece for 1299

 

Yeah looked at that but it’s more money, time, Labour. Easier to buy correct 959 kit and sell 1299.

I'm watching a couple of 1299 full systems on eBay for around £500. Will they fit straight on, once I get lower fairings?

 

Yeah you don’t need the headers just the silencer and flapper valve/y piece

 

Keep the header as a spare though as they’re prone to cracking

I presume you mean the lower fairings? How much?

 

Put on a 1299 can

 

The 959 lower fairings are fine, just need a bit of a trim when fitting the 1299 under belly cans.
Ducati stoke/Manchester do this when fitting the under belly cans to 959’s for people to save some £

 

I did consider this, however when selling it is good to have the original ones to put back on with the original exhaust.

On a side note, I’m amused that anyone fitting Akras is thinking about saving money!

 

Ah ok was meaning the black 1299 under belly cans - then trimming fairings would be ok as it’s a stock system and could be left on for future sale etc

 

Even with that (which I what I did).... you can always raise an extra few hundred for the cans and fairings selling them on for someone else to convert.
