  1. and I was worried about reaching to 20,000 mark!!

  2. Remarkably good paint and bodywork condition, altho the chain would even disgrace me!

  3. My Multistrada 1000S is around 40.000km and no problems nor worries, a friend of mine owns a grey Multi 1000DS MY2004 that now is really close to 100.000km!

  4. Thats the old 2 valve air-cooled engine, well under-stressed engine. I dont know about the 4 valved water cooled Ducati engine. Although it really depends on how you look after the engine, and how its ridden. The old ST4S, 996 engine. There's a few thats done over 100k. American riders.

  5. When i went to WDW in 2007, there was an old guy from east anglia on an early 916 that he had from new, the amount of camping gear he was carrying had to be seen to be believed, every season he followed the GP and Superbike races around europe on it, at the time it had well over 100,000 miles showing and it looked battered and bruised as you would expect, he did all his own maintenance and rode back to Calais in one hit.

  6. on the 851-888 form there is a guy who just had 100.000km on his 851 as well.

    henk!!!

  7. For me the key has always been usage. If a bike is used often and hard, and oil etc changed regularly, they seem to last way better than 5yr old 2k mile bikes

  8. I almost thought that was our Mr Mace there for a moment! Not sure Andy did the all in one thing, that was Baggers who rode back to Lancashire from Misano in one hit on a 1098.

  9. That bike looks great for 100,000k kms.

I had rr7 fireblade and its plastics were nowhere near as good as my 2005 749s. On top of that I recently sold a cbf600sa which suffered with horrendous oxidation.

Anyway, point being, the 2005 749s I have at the moment has better plastics, dont suffer with any other woes apart from reaer engine casing cylinder paint flaking. Some of the mates laugh but I reckn jap bikes are not as good as they used to be, fact.

  10. i'll post on here when my 916 hits the 10,000 mile mark..dont wait up though..
