Btw, I paid £55,000 for my team version earlier this year with 58 miles on it. it came complete with everything the original owner received with the bike. It’s totally as new. Yes, it was from the place in Sheffield that’s supposed to be expensive. I personally found them very approachable and open to doing a deal.
No it won't @bradders. The warranty clock started ticking once the new bike was sold by Ducati, even if it wasn't registered by the owner ... mine was the last genuinely new one left when I bought it from Ducati Glasgow in 2012. I paid £55,000 for mine ACTUALLY new, with 0 miles on it, the extra GP07 exhaust system, tail piece and belly pan fitted, and 3 years warranty and free servicing ... looks like prices have risen a bit since then. Mind you, mine is worth considerably less now ... but then I have had 15,000 (s)miles worth of European riding and track days out of it
I sourced a brand new GP7 exhaust with all the carbon bits in an unopened box for £4K. I looked for two years for the right bike, in the end I gave up and approached the guys in Sheffield. They found the one I wanted but it took several months. Servicing doesn’t bother me, I get it done for next to nothing at my local Ducati dealer in Italy. It’s owned by a good friend of mine.
Yeah but you’ve used it, enjoyed it and had a lot of fun with it. If you do sell it, you’re only likely to lose a few £k, that’s a small price to pay for having so much fun.
Saw this bike on Tuesday, nice bike, the standard exhaust that was sat next to looked a bit rough but i wasn't really paying attention! Seems a lot of money but thats investment for you
I paid 49,500 for mine privately late last year. 2222 miles, GP7 exhaust, both original exhausts/bodywork and every single document and object that came with it - plaque, ECUs, charger, cover etc etc, from original owner. It also has an H&M QS fitted and feels properly set up suspension wise. It's also been ridden at Donington once by Cal Crutchlow :O Considering prices I've been following online I think I got a fantastic deal on what I think is one of the most unique and incredible bikes ever made. I was actually on my way to Sheffield when someone bought the one we were driving to see. We went anyway, and while I was there found one privately on car and classic, a very covert ad that wasn't obvious. We then realised that if we weren't quick Sheffield were going to try and buy it before we did so we hooned from there directly to it and after a brief inspection I was sold. I think what people consider these to be worth is on the up and with a Superleggera at 70k and the RCV213 at 170k - I don't think people asking for north of 60k is unreasonable. The modern bike market doesn't often encounter genuine classic sales architecture, but I think the Desmo is one of the exceptions. Goal is to keep it running well with some light summer use, but it spends all the rest of its time in the house
Cry and some more crying..........punch a wall.....a Bar full of beers........and check your insurance excess cost
That bike looks bog standard - OEM BT01 tyres and probably stock suspension as well. The tyres are pretty crappy especially in wet or damp conditions, particularly with the lack of feel from the standard rock-hard suspension. I've done two or three track days with other D16 riders and at least one went down every time!
