Looking for a low mileage, great condition 748r or 749r (or 999r but maybe over my budget). If your thinking of selling get in touch I might also consider a 1198s/sp or 1098s streetfighter.
My friend was talking of selling his 749R which he currently runs as a track bike. I don’t know too much about it except it’s no ordinary 749R. It’s Stuart Easton’s old race bike so it’s a mega spec. Let me know if you want me to ask him about it.
That Stuart Easton seems to have ridden a lot of bikes. I’ve got 2 of his ex Monster Mob 748RS engines ! Andy
Ah but have you got one of his complete bikes though? Stuart validated it as such. The bike is in JHP at the moment. With the owners permission I’ll take a picture & get a brief history if anyone is genuinely interested in buying it?
Still struggling to find the right bike and missed out on a couple of 1098s Streetfighters that sold within hours of going on sale and a great 748R 02 that sold on here resently. I’m perhaps a little couscous. There’s a 748r on Pistonheads, but he wanted silly money but he’s heading down. The yellow early bike on eBay looks a bit rough on closer inspection. There no 749Rs about at all other than the 08 ritebike one. Needs to be low mileage and great condition.
There all going up in price mate , and people know that. Just got to be patient or look at importing a bike maybe??
I’ve been watching the market a while and most bikes that are top end value wise don’t sell for a very long time, I have bikes in my watched items that are months and months old. The privately sold bikes that are sensibly prices are the one that sell. It’s waiting for one of those and striking quickly I think. I might look at a late 999s also as another option maybe
I think now for an 02 748R in really nice shape you are at 10k plus. I personally know of 3 that have sold for this figure and more.. I suspect the £12k pheads one will sell too eventually, as I know of one that sold for just under 12 in a similar condition with slightly more miles on the clock.. Occasionally they come up cheap and you have to move quick, but they are few and far between at 'normal' price, so fewer and further between at cheap price..
