Just fitted mine - my advice is to get your dealer to fit it for free before you buy the bike... the V4 is the most finicky bike I've worked on. Basically, apart from tail unit and the nose cone, every other fairing needs to come off and radiators need to be loosened in order to fit both the radiator guards. screws, washers, everywhere... Not sure why we are regressing tbh. 996 -999 all super easy to gain access to everything. 1098 already became a bit more difficult, panigales, especially the v4 are at a new level. have the belly pan to put back tmr...exhausted...
Thanks for the heads-up. That's indeed a shame and good on you for persevering. I had a day like that with a headlight guard on the GS; had to take the whole front off, and there was a clip that simply defied the laws of physics in it's application. The garage gods smiled down and somehow, in the dark, 1 arm up a GS, with needle-nose pliers held upside-down and back to front with a torch in my mouth, it went in.
They'll do it free when the recalls are getting done, a new inner radiator surround needs fitted so they'll be in there anyway
