Hi guys I have an issue with my 848. My front led indicators have stopped working. My rear ones still work but rapid flashing as if theres a break in the circuit. I have checked my fuses and all is fine. If it was the relay am sure that would stop the rear indicators working aswel. Please help as the bike is due an MOT and its got me flumuxed. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the response. Is their a way to reset them or get them working because the rear ones are working. And I need them working for not or will I have to take into Ducati for a reset etc.
Not that I know of. Ducati will probably suggest a new dash! It is possible that the earth circuit for the front flashers is broken which would explain why they don't work and the rear flashers are twice speed but the parking lights and the horn use the same earth so I think this is unlikely. If the electronics will allow it might be possible to wire the front right in parallel with the rear right and the same for the left side but I don't know how that would affect the flash rate.
Have you had the nose fairing off recently? It sounds like one of the connectors is not pushed in all the way. The rear indicators are flashing quickly because the load on the relay isn't correct same as a car if the bulb goes the indicators on the affected side flashes quickly.
It hasn't got a relay. But yes, if the front indicators are not connected the dash will flash the rear ones at double speed as a warning.
I initially thought "Earth" when both weren't working. Time to get the multimeter out and start working back.
Yeah had nose cone off recently to repair some damage but the blinkers were working at first. Will strip it down tomorrow see if i can find the root of the problem Thanks for the input guys.
I'm not saying you're as handless as I am, so please don't take offense. It is reasonably easy to damage the wiring when installing the mirrors, if you are lucky enough to be blessed with a fine pack of sausage fingers (me) I've done it a few times but you'd need to be particularly unlucky to do it to both indicators at the same time
All fixed guys. Took nose off. Disconnected the dash reconnected all of it and all blinkers working now.
