    Hi, folks!
Today I found some dust in my air box when I decide to check the condition of the filter. I believe it’s Termignoni or DP washable filter but I’m not sure about the brand as there is not any numbers or signs ot it. The bike has full Termignoni exhaust system installed by previous owner. I bought the bike MTS 1200 S at 58000km and now a bit above 81 000km after my 12 000km trip to Nordkapp
I’m going to wash&oil filter with K&N kit that I already have, but I wonder if it’s normal to have so much dust in the box an I want to hear your opinion.
    Thanks in advance!

  2. Would expect it to be clean in there.
Has it had the other side of the air box cut out ? If you have an aftermarket type some have the other side cut out but if it’s not done correctly then it can let dust in this rendering the filter useless.

  3. If it's like the 848/1098 etc design then the filters are not a snug fit with the intakes tubes so dust gets around the gaps and into the box. The fix is to glue a little neoprene on the end to add a bit of length. 100% fixed the issue on my 848.

  4. Hi, no, air box is standard only the filter is aftermarket and I wonder if it is working properly and can filter the air like OEM filters. Not sure how this fine dust affects the engine

  5. Do you know if the bike had been in storage before you bought it ?
