1299 Sat Nav Mount And Power Supply.

  1. My 1299 is being delivered on the 7th, it’s going to be a long wait!!
Has anyone any info regarding a way of mounting and powering my tom Tom rider?
I’m thinking of a ball mount that fixes into the headstock, has anyone tried one of those? Cheers

  2. I've not but @panigale66 will tell you more about ball mounts cos he's got one :)

  4. I used a Telferizer ball mount in the headstock on my 1299.

    A great product, highly recommended.

  5. Brilliant, that’s exactly what I need. I already have all the other bits as I used them on my Tuono, it’s just mounting to the bike is different due to the clip ons. Cheers.

  6. Another vote here for the telferizer ball here.
Fitter one to the V4 and absolutely perfect.
Had the Ram yoke mount previously but that just doen not stay tight like the telferizer.
For the power I have used the oxford usb adaptor in conjunction with the smart charger connectors.
I think battery for V4 in different place but should still work.

  7. Forgive me for being dense but what are the smart charger connectors?

  8. I had an oxford smart charger that provides a fused direct connector so that uou can just plug in the smart charger quickly. Had a quick look and oxford now seem to have a usb charger option with the required cable as a package.

Works well for any USB device.

  9. One more for the Telferizer. I connect my Garmin straight to battery. There is a gps blanked plug under left (as you sit on bike) plastic by headlamp Im led to believe, but its just easier for lazy people like me to connect to battery. Same with my Optimiser charge lead.

  10. Thanks everyone for the info, I’ve got it sorted in my head, now the long wait until she arrives. I’ve wanted a Panigale since I first saw the 1199 launch video, I can barely believe I’ve fulfilled my dream.
I’m probably biased but looking at my bike and the V4 in the dealers the other day mine was the prettiest! To me anyway. Cheers

  11. I use a garmin satnav but didn’t want to leave the base units on my bike all the time so i spliced in a battery tender connected to the power lead so I can disconnect any time

  12. Cannot comment on the power supply, But for the actual mount i used to have the RAM stem mounts which is not purpose built for the panigale. However RAM have introduced a new mount which i can confirm fits our models as i purchased it. It is the new RAM HD stem mounts (15mm variant) They are pricey at around £50.00 but work very well. Looks identical to the Telferizer mount.

  13. Farhan, do you have the 1299? I’m just making sure I order the correct one, 15mm you say.
    Cheers

  14. I have an 899 but im certain the stem for all 4 panigale models is the same.

  15. Another thumbs up for Telferizer from me (I have a 1299 Panigale). Easy to fit and still fine after 3 years. I have a TomTom who provide the wire which runs from the battery, I ran it along the wiring loom near the tank to the fork yoke and it just tucks away when not in use. All easy to fit, works perfectly and looks good.
P.s. Agree they look better than the V4! Enjoy

  16. Has anyone found the power socket under the left hand side fairing bit by the headlight? Is it a permanent live or a switched live (with the ignition)?

  17. See post number 6 here for my solution,.....but then again I am a self confessed anal dickhead !!

  18. Am I right in saying the optimate adapter plugs into the Ducati charger socket and you run the cablealong the bike and to the top yoke? Is this a permanent feed, or is it only live when the ignition is on?
