Hi All, So I’ve just been caressing the bike with a wet microfibre mit and just realised that half the rear splash guard is missing. The weird thing is it doesn’t seem broken as such but I am sure it’s a one piece part. I’ve stuck a request up on the wanted forum in case any of you have one you want to sell. My question is, is it known to be weak? Is it worth replacing with a standard part or going after market? I know a lot of you don’t like them and take them off but I do find it keeps a lot of crap off me in the wet weather. So I would like to replace it. Stoob
Mine fell off my DVT whilst in France. The main arm stayed in place, just the splash-guard end piece came off. My riding mate saw it and picked it up, though the whole thing was replaced under warranty. The guard piece is located on plastic studs and plastic welded to the arm part. I'm pretty sure it was all taken back by my dealer as it was a claim. I agree it is very useful when wet and worth replacing. Try comparing the cost of an OEM one with an after-market one. Several manufacturers but they only seem to offer carbon fibre ones and they are expensive.
Hi Coman, Yeah I’ve been looking on eBay etc. I found this site which has it for £80 https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ So I’ll probably just go for that. I’m not interested in £250 plus for carbon bling. Stoob
Hi Stooby. That looks OK, just £74. Martin, it's on that site, you have to dig deeper. https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/d...a_1200_S/Multistrada-1200-S/SWINGARM/9/48/0/9 Part 14 on the diagram.
Do you mean this bit? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-M...ati+multistrada+1200+mudguard&_from=R40&rt=nc
Yes that’s the part. I saw that eBay listing too thinking that a new part would be extortionate but at £80 shipped it’s not bad at all. Stoob
I've got one that was not returned after a warranty replacement. One of the plastic lugs has come apart so it was wobbling, but I'm pretty sure it could easily be repaired with minimal effort. It's from a 1200S DVT yours for £20 (plus postage?). Not sure where you are but I'm in Surrey if you wanted to pick it up.
Thanks for all of the replies. It looks like I have sourced one from a forum member (thanks Rivercop). Twin4me - yes it's the wrap around splash guard thing. Looks like I'm sorted out now but thanks. Stuart

Hmm, that's why I was confused the eBay link shows the rear mudguard hugger. I have one of these if anyone wants it
