hi does any body know if there’s a different loom that holds the tell tale lights and clock illumination lights for a 22 pin as opposed to a 19 pin main loom.. fitted a 996 twin injector engine in a 916. Change to 22 pin loom but have no ignition light or neautral light,, the clock loom fits the main front loom but the terminals with wires attached don’t match up to all the terminals with wires in the connectors Any help appreciated
I had a 996SPS bitsa with P8 ecu. I had the same issue as you describe almost - no neutral light. I once swapped to a different loom and the neutral light came back but something else stopped working. It was ages ago so I cannot remember exactly what it was. I ended up living without the neutral light for many years and left it like that. Sorry I can’t help any more than that.
There appears to be two wiring versions. Early bikes up to 1998 have a single wire neutral switch. The neutral switch and the oil pressure light have a 12v feed from the indicators / horn / brake light circuit. From 1998 on they use a 2 wire neutral switch with 12V supplied to the bulb through the neutral switch. The other side of the bulb is connected to ground.
loom that goes to speedo .. there is obviously 2 sorts I had this carry on with an ST loom. The electrics on these bikes is a fucking nightmare. Well it probably isn't for an auto electrician, but I'm not one so it is.[/QUOTE]
