just bought a Garmin 595lm I mounted it on the handlebar next to left hand mirror stem, with the fittings supplied with it. its too close for my eyes to register it quickly. so I would like to know if anybody has placed it elseware thanks
I had an 1100 in the days of the Zumo 500. I mounted it above the dash, but I can't remember the details of how I did it. I think the cradle/Ram mount was bolted to the lower fairing frame, possibly with U bolts. Sorry, not much help but at least it is possible and a far better location for easy viewing. I'd suggest you have a look at http://www.multistrada.net/ It's full of people with aircooled Multis and I'm sure they can advise you.
just digging around https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Supporto-GPS-Multistrada-620-1000-1100-GPS-Mount-/192183951467 http://www.telferizer.com/products/ I think on this one it looks like the owner has moved the clocks to the right, then formed a metal plate using the original left holes for the clocks, and I'm guessing placed a sat nav ball on the plate to mount the waterproof sat nav case on for the sat nav?
Noobie, that Italian eBay mount rings a bell. I know I made my own mount up, but plenty of others bought a mount similar to the one you found. There was also an aluminium plate made up by one of the Multistrada.net Forum members which shifted the clocks across much like your picture. IIRC he sold quite a few of the on the forum, then stopped making them.
There is this one on ebay with the sat nav above the clocks, you could always pm him O/P and ask how he did it and with what parts https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-M...159011?hash=item44248038a3:g:JJAAAOSw9N5bDRxT another option maybe a motocross handle bar brace to mount one on? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-8-22mm...871065?hash=item23637b2899:g:K34AAOSwLVZV1afp
