  1. Bought a spare ECU for the ST4s (2002 S02) and didn't need it.

The plastic bit is not in good condition but was sourced from a reputable breaker via eBay and I'm told by the ECU Doctor (UK) that it is easily replaced.

Looking £150, and will post free within island of Ireland or will go halves on registered post to the UK. Anything further afield is at buyer's expense.

    Cheers,

  2. In chattanooga tn. Usa . desperately need. Is it a 59? Would you take 120$ American and ill pay shipping?

  3. Hi mate,
sorry, not sure what you mean by a 59, but this came from a US bike. It is a 2002 model, S02, beyond that I can't tell you. But in my own researches, it matched my own bike which was a UK model 2002 ST4s S02.

However, it owes me more than $120. $150 plus shipping would be the best I could do. Shipping should be about $15.

Let me know if that suits and I'll get it off to you ASAP.

    Cheers,

    A

  4. I would still have to have it flashed...or mapped correct? Do you have the red key as well? Thank you for your time sir

  5. No,don't have any keys associated.
When i got it, I checked with ECU Doctor and they confirmed that the thing to do is clone the old one.

I was experiencing intermittent issues which an old Bologne-trained tech suggested was a failing ECU. As it turned out, a diagnostic run and a reset sorted out mine so this was surplus to requirements, but consequently, I got no keys with it on the understanding they were not necessary.

Let m know if that's any good to you.

  6. If it is from an ST4s it will be an IAW59M ECU.
You can only clone the old key if you have it! The ECUs, unless they are brand new and virgin are coded to the keys. it is possible to have a used ECU "virginised" although I would think that getting it flashed to remove the immobiliser requirement would have the same effect - it would start with any key. A virgin ECU will code itself to the first black key that is used.

  7. Sorry, what I was referring to was I was told that the new ECU can be made a clone of the old one. I believe the process is as you have highlighted, the new one is wiped or 'virginised' first and then flashed with a clone image of the old ECU.

I wasn't talking about key cloning, as strictly speaking, it should not be necessary as the new ECU will be aware of the old keys.

  8. OK. That wasn't clear from your earlier post.

  9. There is also the immo box to consider as well on the ST4S.

  10. A fair point, but again, as the ECU you would be putting back is essentially a cloned version of the old one, eliminating any hardware faults, it should not have any impact on immobiliser function.

That said, the immobiliser on an ST4s when it starts giving trouble is pain in the arse and should be killed to death fire.

Ask me how I know? :)

  11. Not come across anyone who can virginise the IAW59M ECU.

  12. Im getting open circuit between pins on ecu black side that correspond to cps + and - the shielded ground does have .01 resistence to the pin.

  13. Sorry mate, can't help you there. My expertise does not extend to electrickery!

It's all magic and pixie dust to me.

  14. Derek told me to check these things. Thanks mate
