somewhere on track in spain by Superstockrider 1. HP4 1.30.9 2. PANI S 1.30.5 3. PANI 1.31 4. SR1000RR 1.32 all on pirelli in ideal testing conditions HP4 wins .7 second on end straight line speed ( +8 KPH) and loses it in the twities and bends just to show how good the pani is as a standard bike is and probably how very good the Pani R will be grtz Koen
The amusing thing about stuff like this is that some people will think it is important. Most Pani owners aren't going to get within 5 or 10 seconds of those times because the biggest variable by far is the guy on the bike. The rest is all hair-splitting. But hey, what price bragging rights down the boozer, eh?
Glidd! I'm ashamed of you. Bragging rights are everything. You are now banned from the Sportsbike Dick Waving Club :frown:
Is it about bragging.... euhhhhhh. of course it is but i think loving Ducati is also about knowing that it is not only looks or posing.. for harley folk, that is enough... Duc owners want to know that the object of their affection is ( if possible) the best you can get out there... that it 's not only stunningly beautiful but will also whoop everybodys ass if need be... Myself i could not own a bike that looks good but rides crap.. I just hate watching them not perform.... and what i like on this test is how good the standard bike is... that 15k will buy anyone on hell of a performer... oooohhhh i feel an R urge coming.....
Course its about bragging! Why have a Ducati otherwise and most wont be within 30 seconds of thos times, never mind 5 or 10
Who cares about 0.7 second on a lap of Doo-Dah with wind of and blah, blah, blah. I can't ride to the limits of the bike anyway so I'd rather own something that doesn't look like the bastard lovechild of Quasimodo and a Blobfish. Riding is about how it makes you feel and sitting on that BMW abomination would make me want to projectile vomit.
Hi Roy tx fpr pointing out the mixe up ! stands corrected! the ohlins does make a diff, but, as i said earlier , the base is a miracle of a bike..
TP#12. Having recently celebrated my half-century on planet Earth, I'm now officially so old I'm pretty sure I was born before marriage was invented !
Mmm, well the figures don't actually mean that much. Super stock rider or not, it depends on how well and quickly they adapted to the bike, how we'll the bike is set up and how well they rode the lap. As far as the R is concerned, I don't think it'll be too much different to a similarly equipped S. Okay, it's got titanium rods, DLC coated rocker arms (neither of which will make it any quicker, it just means that those components should last longer at sustained high revs). Okay, it's got a different sprocket for better acceleration and a lighter fly wheel for higher revs. How much will it add up to ? Not much. The difference between the 1198R & 1198S I think will be much bigger. This really isn't an R of old but that's because the S is already so good.
'Sall marketing innit? We like the idea that we have something special - the ultimate bike with all sort of expensive unobtainium goodies. Doesn't really mean we can do it justice - you'd have to be a Bayliss type to really squeeze out the extra 10th.
Lol you said slow. I like that http://www.s1000rrforum.com/forum/bmw-s1000rr-hp4-videos/8029-bmw-vs-zx10-onearmbandit-vs-me.html
