  1. replaced sprag clutch fitted battery can now turn alarm on and off with fob turn key lots of clicking noises dash board lights flash push starter nothing happens any ideas whilst repairing battery has been on trickle charge however two pushes of the starter button battery shows week charge

  2. Either contacts loose or battery gone, batteries do go over night. this cold spell drains them big time. Try a different battery.

My old Aprilia needs plenty of juice when starting. I purchased a 14amp one, the Sprags do go on Aprilia's mille's quiet a common problem. costly if they do.

  3. as above plus some alarms seem to drain battery down quite quickly. Is it a Datatool?

  4. checked most connections even took lead direct to starter motor still no joy however turn the key the alarm goes off and gets slower sounds like a strangled duck would it be a good conclusion that its the alarm, as originally using bike worked fine then would not start been off the road for about 6 mounths slow at replacing sparg clutch, some forums hint it could be a rectifier ?????

  5. The rectifier might be a long term problem but it can't be your immediate starting problem which has to be down to a fault with the heavy duty connections (earths and 'live's), the solenoid, the state of the battery and (least likely) the condition of the starter motor. When you used a starter lead you bypassed the solenoid? so it's down to possibly the engine-to-battery earth (you could use the other jump lead for this), the condition of the starter motor or the battery. I tend to think it is the battery. There is nothing wrong with attempting a jump start from a car battery (particularly in this weather) as long as the car engine isn't running.
