Motorcycle Magazines VS Online Surfing on Ducati Bikes

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by amiyasmein, Feb 20, 2013.

  1. HI all,

Some people may choose reading magazines to surfing online, vice versa. Opinions anyone? If I were to get more information on Ducati Bikes and do not have access to the internet, what magazines should i get and what are the most popular motorcycle magazines that could be found in your region?Tks

  2. Moved to Ducati General discussion

  3. I read four titles a mouth, Bike, Performance Bike, RiDE and Practical Sportsbikes, but they only tend to write stories on the current 'in' bike. I know that Alan Seeley is documenting his restoration of his Ducati in Practical Sportsbike.
    Hope that helps a bit

  4. Thks! Yes it does. There is also a link to great magazines website which really helps. If you know more about motorcycle mags in other regions like russia, brazil or even asia ,do share?tks again.:upyeah:

  5. If you want to know about Ducati's there's plenty of books on the market. I find Ian Falloon the most accurate, informative and interesting. His latest issue of The Ducati Story(with VR on the cover) has only been out a couple of years and covers up to the 848/1098, and also includes a fair amount of racing history. Available on ebay or amazon for less than £20.

  6. i think all mags are a waste of money imho...theyre there as a means of marketing products and sowing the seeds of discontent, and essentially keep reinventing the wheel. how many times have you read about the lastest bike and they tell how wonderful it is in every way and then the following the 'new' version comes out and is even better as the 'old' bike had a million and one things wrong with it..10 years later they bang on about how the 05 bike was really better than the 06 because it had gotten too soft blah blah...
my opinion has never really been swayed by magazine articles..id rather read independant review and such like...plus in the world of sports bikes, they are so similar that you may as well buy the prettiest...if you want a ducati then it has to be a ducati..if you want the latest ducati sportsbike it has to be a panigale ,no matter what the reviews say. there can be some handy info there but i take everything with a pinch of salt and note htat the publishers have to be respectful to their advertisers.
