Wheel Tape

I bought 5mm red tape from eBay. It was curved and it took about 4 pieces to do each side of the rim. I think it looks good and was easy to fit.

 

This is something I want to do also, is it wrong to put the Marcheseni Stickers on too? :biggrin:

This is what I used.

 

5mm, half a cm not thick at all, probably about right I would say

The tape on factory supplied bikes is 5mm.

 

I was also looking at doing this on my 1198 wheels so thanks for the tips.

 

Made my own from a few sheets of tape, sharp knife & some patience!

 

One thing i would say, dont bother with the tape and applicator method, tried it on my triumph and if you dont get a perfect circular line it looks a right arse, and is a right pin to remove.

 

Hows this for a bump :tongue: Had to order some of these too as after having my rear wheel refurbished, the red stripe around the wheel is missing :frown:

 

I've had my delivery from the chap listed on this thread off eBay, just wondered how people had applied it?

Obviously clean the rim with an alcohol based solution but then did you wet the rims with a warm water/soap solution?

Also my kit has 2 different sized stripes, does anybody know how he set up the artwork? 4 long stripes per side or two long and two short?

I've got one shot at this so am bound to screw it up royaly
