As the title says, I picked up a Pani from a salvage auction. So... sight unseen, aside from pictures, with no information on the bike. The pictures showed it to be in excellent condition, no signs of a drop or crash, my bet is it was a theft recovery. Was delivered a minute ago and I started digging into it a bit. The steering stop appears to have had an encounter with a hacksaw... definitely thinking theft recovery on this one. Has some trick parts, but there's a few things missing as well as a few loose connectors (some of which appear to be related to the Bazzaz and not OEM wiring). I'm not new to Ducati but am unfamiliar with the Panigale platform... would you folks be able to take a look at the pics and tell me what jumps out at you? A buddy is coming by with a battery so will know if it runs shortly, and if it does I'll need a parts list to order up (if it doesn't, you lot will be seeing a parts list posted for sale ). So far from what I've seen: - Fairing fasteners. - Mirrors and associated fasteners. - Ignition cover and fasteners - Fasteners for the bracket that retains the rear of the tank under the seat. - Tab that pulls on the cable to release the pillion cover. - Battery retention bracket of some sort. - Some kind of cover for the left side vertical cylinder.
And it runs! Had an engine light but went away once it warmed up, guessing it was just a lack of a battery. Revs strong, no funny noises. Looks like I'll be buying parts and not selling them.
Alright, I think I've discovered and ordered the various covers and fasteners I'll need. Would be great if anybody has any input on the various electrical connectors.
Sorry I know nothing at all about those bikes, but from a quick glance a the pics it looks it looks like a nice bike. I hope you got a great deal and it all works out well. Engine already running sounds promising. Goodluck!
This is a ducati oem parts in Omaha, it's a microfiche/picture of parts etc. Select your model then go looky, I hope it helps https://www.ducatiomaha.com/pages/ducati-oem-parts
Yep that's where I've ordered it all from. Took it for a quick spin around the neighborhood today, first time on a Panigale. Was not disappointed
Could be a track bike converted back to road rather than a stolen recovery? Whip the fairings off and you'll be able to see what the electrical plugs are. Its pretty quick to remove the Panigale plastics. The little small plug looks like the mirror / indicator connector but I'm not sure about the rest from the pictures.
i agree with this statement, try and remove all the Bazzaz wiring, and also strangely on the left side of the Rad shroud there is marks to show that a unit was fitted here at some point.. and the twin cable plug looks like its a power supply to me, maybe a blipper unit?
