Bursig Centre Lift Stand Or Similar

  1. No mate, all good, I don't even have a ducati.

  2. Just had Abba superbike stand with front lift bar delivered. Very happy with it. Considered the sky-lift but like the smaller foot print of the super bike stand. Thanks all for your replies. :upyeah:

  3. Just bumping this thread instead of starting a new one. Have a mate who swears by the Bursig which is what I am considering ($350AUD delivered - distributor in Oz, the Abba stand comes with $140AUD postage from the UK). The bloke in this clip gives an honest opinion about the Bursig despite some obvious setup issues (I don't have aftermarket rearsets). Any updated/different views from those expressed above?

  4. Didn’t add my my take at the time but to my mind it’s got to depend on what your requirements are. I don't need to move a bike around in a confined space nor am I strapped for space so for me, when I need to work on one of the bikes, I use either paddock and footpeg stands or the Abba superbike stand. If you need the flexibility then something like the Bursig is a market leaders. However, for me, the concept of lifting your 200kg pride and joy using a cantilever shouts catastrophe despite the Bursig advertising video where the guy sits on the bike whilst they move it around on their stand. Whitchcraft I tell you, witchcraft :scream: Andy

  5. The Bursig is a copy of the 1Jac :):upyeah: which is generally regarded as the best of the lot (apart from the Abba Sky Lift which is a step up in functionality of course)

  7. Point taken and I am for paying a premium for quality rather than save a quick buck. However, I would have to import the 1jac - ($540 Aud for the unit plus $367 Aud for shipping). I can't justify to myself paying anywhere close to the unit price in shipping unless it is something near and dear to my heart. The shipping alone pays for the Bursig.

  8. Have you looked at the Warrior - another copy of the 1Jac and cheaper than the Bursig

  9. The Warrior is allegedly on a par or just a bit worse than the Constand, both of which if I remember correctly, were withdrawn from sale for a while by Demon Tweekes several years ago. Andy

  10. Yes: they were withdrawn from sale due to an issue with the castors failing - but have been available for a couple of years now again at Demon Tweek's with the castor issue resolved so it would be fairly safe to say the issue had been resolved. 1Jac were at the time promoting 100% UK manufacture, although someone reminded them their own castors came from China via there UK supplier.
Very cheap at the moment (you need the fitment kit as well of course)

I would still recommend splashing the cash and getting the Abba Skylift as a one time buy though...

  11. Correction: have found an Oz retailer for the Skylift, $1100 AUD. Don't doubt it is a nice bit of kit, but for the level of work I do on the bike I can't justify that money. There are other goodies I can buy with the $750 difference.
