Rob there is a good garage thread on PistonHeads recommending those tiles you intend to use.You may have seen it? I did my old garage out a few years ago with a cheap end of line porcelain tile.No cracking but lethal when wet hence I’m researching a non slip and intend to use same as yourself having just moved.
I had my floor polished/ground then went with an industrial epoxy primer and top. It’s rock hard, smooth and has so far resisted jacks, tyres sat on it, oil/petrol spillages and side stands. Think the epoxy paint was about £300 from memory
Merry Christmas guys, I have used these guys products with great success, although in my own garage I have wall to wall carpet so much easier on the knees https://www.watco.co.uk/products/pa...concrete-paint/watco-concrete-floor-paint-5l/
Came across this today, not heard of it before but it’s what the bar floor & kitchen are coated in at work, looks bloody hard wearing.
Useful to know, thanks, clearly no car tyres in the bar or kitchen. I also doubt @Robarano ’s tyres touch the floor other than momentarily
I'm hanging about to see if anything pops up in the sales. I like the idea of ceramic floor tiles, but really can't be bothered with the prep (old paint up) / laying / cutting / grouting . I'd rather pay a couple of hundred quid more for the ease of the interlocking pvc ones. As they said they wouldn't have them in till mid January, there's nothing spoiling with hanging on. Carpet looks good, but I sometimes wheel a wet bike into the garage after cleaning or come home on the Vespa in the wet, I think they would get dirty quickly. Painting, it's what I have now and has marked quite badly. It's not a maintenance free option and will need re-doing after a few years, that's a no-no. So DB, I'm reading with interest and assimilating the information of the venerable mambers.
