  1. Hi
Just purchased a carbon fibre swing arm cover for my 1098s has anyone fitted one? just wondering how it was secured?

  2. Chewing gum

  3. Surprised with comments like that you have any teeth to chew any!!!!

  4. Pretty sure it's a blue Peter job! Should be perhaps one or two holes for mounting bolts, I know this is the case for one side on the 999 swing arm. But likewise think you will need either mastic tape or better still some silicon and cable ties leave over night sorted looks good too! Don't worry it does come off again with some encouragement just don't go too daft with the silicon mind, apply it generously but strategically if you know what I mean? At the points of most flex/resistance, carbon fibre is rarely perfect as you know!

  5. No nails ?

  6. Hi matt
yeah there is a couple of holes on the top part i presume where the hugger will go and one on the bottom, was just worried abot securing the other end sounds like it will hold it in place just don't want to damage the swing arm

  7. Yeh that sounds right I went to wickes got some black silicon just for a neater job really, you'll find edges kind of spring up hence cable tieing on them over nite! you may have to join two ties together to get em wrapped round either end. But it does the job the holes might need adjusting possibly also, often the underside one may need moved along or widened slightly, it shouldn't damage the swing arm silicon when it dries to non rubberised surfaces pretty much rubs or peels off, just don't prepare the arm with sand paper or anything ha! Just a rub down with a cloth I wouldn't prep too much, degrease with a bit of fairy liquid that's about it! It's fiddly that's all.

  8. I will give it a go tomorrow, looks like i will be going down to the local DIY place then. Thanks for that
