Sky App

  1. OK. Not quite a bike gadget as such, but how cool is setting your Sky box to record the MotoGP while sitting on my bike 40 miles away?! Sky Remote Record on my smart phone, click Listings > Sports > Eurosport UK > Date and select the program. My wife was on the Planner page at the time and saw the entry pop up within a second of me pressing Record.

I know this is hardly rocket science these days but isn't this is a wonderful example of the type of things that we all take for granted now?

  2. Yep. another great invention that comes along with no fanfare. This would have been witchcraft in the 90's. I have it on my Galaxy tab although p'd off that skygo is not available on android tabs. bloody Apple giving Sky some large wads methinks!!

  3. Haven't tried it yet but it looks like SkyGo was available as of this Feb.

  4. Its only on selected android phones at the moment I think Tim. None of the tabs.

  5. Sky say that Skygo output has to be tailored for each different screen that's out there so they are making it available on a model by model basis, starting with the latest phones first. My HTC Sensation was working well with it until I upgraded the Android version to ICS and now its back on the black list. It's a rather odd way of working though as other video playback mediums aren't hardware dependant, such as YouTube.

Whilst its a rather clever app, the reality is that its not much use. It only shows sky channels and the only one of those that is possibly worth watching is Sky news. I don't have sports and have just cancelled the movies as we hardly ever found anything worth watching.

  6. Ok Sticky, I hadn't looked into it properly. However, I've just installed it on my Galaxy S2 and it works. No idea what it does to the battery life yet but the quality seems OK. I've only looked at Sky News so far but will try a film.
