Panigale insurance

  1. Seriously thinking of changing my 848 for a Panigale, been trolling around for insurance.
Ducati insurance a offering 25% off insurance but there quotes are horendous even with the 25% off.
Most are in the £500 - £600 brkt except MCE quoted £318,
Basically question is who knows what they are like if needed.
15k seems the cut off point for most insurances, how on earth do you insure a Desmo at 35K

  2. You will pay 5% of the value the bike as rule of thumb.

  3. MCE quoted me £1,346.51. Mind you not ridden a bike since 1989!!!

  4. Try open and direct got panigale s and z1000sx for £475.00 with £25 pound cash back I am 45 6 years no claims.

  5. MCE are good, im with them and insured 1199s and gsxrk8 1000 on the same policy with all extras for £1200.
    Age 31 7yrs NCB.

Plus you get entry to padocks and loads of little extras as they sponsor BSB

  6. I believe the OP is asking what MCE are like if you have to make a claim. The test of any good insurer.

  7. They will only be as good as the underwriter of the policy.

  8. 34yo living in london, just bought an ex demo 2012 panigale - MCE have thus far been the cheapest at 911quid. The next best pricing was coming from Bennetts. 1stQuote who I have used before came with good pricing but massive excess!

  9. Cheers for your opinions, looks like MCE is the way to go. Sadly I suppose you only find out how good they are when you need to claim,
just wondered if anyone had any bad experiences with them. Its one of those things you have to have but hope you dont need it.

  10. Never used them but if you search I'm sure there are lots of horror stories regarding MCE on here and elsewhere

  11. Ducati insurance are the only ones I found would cover the D16 with its value. You pay a bit more, but at least you're covered.

  12. something interesting, even though MCE came back at 911 as my cheapest quote, as soon as I entered in the Ducati alarm and immobiliser my premium dropped to 640. I even went through the quote process twice to make sure I had not mis-entered anything...........bad news is the excess is really high. Still overall it was the best I could find so what I chose!

  13. Unfortunately I can tell you through a very bitter experience that I implore you to look at anyone else but this lot of .......

  14. Problem is that a lot of insurance companies suck bigtime. I personally have a hate campaign with zurich and royal sun alliance, who for me totally redefine the definition of dog shit service.

  15. Ooh dont get me started on zurich insurance... bunch of fucktard thundercnuts.

  16. MCE quoted me £7k :) Ducati £800 FC, 7 years NCB

  17. I am insured with Ducati Insurance 3 bike policy 1199s, 848 Evo and 848 Streetfighter comes in at under £700 a year fully comp :)

  18. My 1199S costs £500 with MCE but when I asked to insure an 1199R the cheapest quote I could find was £5000!!! What's all that about?!:Wideyed:
