This has been going on for the past 30 years and threatening to turn Mallory Park into a Housing estate. I can remember it back in the 80s when I first raced there. Hopefully it will never happen as its a good little circuit and we dont have enough of them that are not into the hands of the BHL/MSV money grabbing gits.
Thanks and yes I have been at the receiving end of piss poor planning decisions ruining enjoyment of home life
Then you need to make yourself heard. The reason tracks are being hounded for closure is because a few bitter old twunts start complaining - and nobody opposes them because they think it'll never happen...
This would be such a shame for all Motorsport fans. I did about 8 track days there last year and they are getting battered by the locals, even to the point of track day companies insisting we do not start engines before certain times in the morning. To be honest, I get the ban on revving the tits off a bike early in the morning and feel that this is the right thing to do. However. I think one of the issues is the motorcross track just on the other side of the start/ finish straight. The noise those bikes make made the 30ish sports bikes on track seem as noisy as a church mouse! TBH, the bloody noise drove me up the wall! i think we all have to do our bit to keep the noise down, but if these people don't like, MOVE. Dont close my favourite track!
Trouble is you get very rich bored housewifes moving into the area and get bored so they spend All their time complaining. I expect they own a noise/db meter.
only council owned calibrated meters are of any use in getting action done legally on noise, been thru tghis getting noise abatement orders on neighbours however as race meets are a known quantity as to when they will happen unlike chav parties it is very easy to contact the council before a race meet and have the noise recoding equip set up and waiting for the inevitable and to this regard, many people doing track days and the like with loud exhaust systems are their own worst enemy
Sounds similar to croft a few years ago where they were running more days than they were legally allowed, maybe Mallory has done the same with the added MX track now?
My (limited) experience of MX is that it seems far louder as its a constant buzz for a short distance, where on track bikes are bunched a bit but pretty soon stretched over the distance of the track so the collective noise doesn't seem as bad As mainly road bikers (I'd guess) would we be more accepting of a ban on MX if it kept the road track open?
Save Mallory Park Circuit - e-petitions Don't know what the Government have got to do with it but I've filled it in and passed it around. Its all very well the circuit owners saying it's not for sale but what they say, mean and do..............
Also signed. There on the 29th for my first track day of the year. The only place on earth where gravy comes as standard with your salad.
