  1. Creator of the Haynes Manual

For many they have been an indispensable part of growing up skinning knuckles, for others, a frustrating source of authoritative misinformation. With over 200 million copies sold, what cannot be denied is that, at some point or other, they have helped many millions..!

Thank you, John, Rest In Peace

  3. Spent many early years too skint to afford garage repairs but fixed older mechanical cars with the aid of a haynes manual. Undoubtedly the biggest aid I had to keeping vehicles on the road at minimal cost and started off my mechanical tinkering

  6. I've bought several Haines manuals over the years, all of which helped me to either repair of break various bikes. I bought one for my Suzuki a few weeks ago. I think they went a bit far expecting Seb to buy one for his car though.

  7. Haynes motor museum is well worth a visit

Red room just about every red convertible except a mx5

And there is a genuine Crocker there, albeit a speedway bike rather than the V twin

  8. some of the most important written books of our time
