Hi All I went into the garage yesterday and notice that my 2018 Monster 1200S was not charging, I currently have it on a Ducati official trickle charger through the DDA plug. I then plugged the charger into my Multistrada and it is working fine, so it has to be something wrong on the monster. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Maek
Have you checked that the DDA plug (what is the DDA plug?) is working? Is there an inline fuse? I have an optimate connector on my battery and have noticed that the wires have become very brittle with the heat of the engine so I keep an eye on it as I an sure it's going to break real soon. I will route it a different way when I have to replace it.
The DDA plug is under the seat away from the exhaust, it the diagnostic plug. The official Ducati trickle charge use the DDA plug so you don’t have to mess around running wires to battery. I’m not sure what fuse to look at in the bike.
Didn't even know about that plug for charging so cannot offer any more help I'm afraid, where are you?
Hi Mark, you ever get to the bottom of this issue? My monster 821 has exactly the same issue; not charging via under-seat charge connector. I’ve checked all the fuses in both fuse boxes. Any suggestions welcome. Nash.
Interesting news about the DDA plug - thanks For diagnostic purposes...have you tried just running the optimate connectors to the battery? You just need to drop the battery a bit to connect one of them. It is not that difficult
