Hi, has anyone used the fuel system cleaner "Seafoam" on their Ducati ? If so, how much would you use and would it be poured straight in a tank of fresh fuel ?
I used it on my 900ss didn't measure how much I used just poured the bottle in a tank of fresh petrol it seemed to make a difference
Was thinking of putting half in first but I did read the more you put in the better it cleans. I think I may have some varnish deposits on the injectors themselves. The head assemblies are freshly rebuilt so not worried about carbon deposits there. This all stems from an issue I had on a dyno run after converting to an 853. Lets see what difference it makes. Cheers.
I have used Seafoam but not sure it made any difference, when I was restoring my CB750 I had a lot of varnish in the carbs, I put neat redex on it and it didn’t touch it, so I mixed some petrol with it and it still didn’t touch it, so I sprayed Holts carb cleaner on it and it came off instantly, I seem to remember reading that Redex had to remove a key ingredient for H&S reasons a few years back, Napfa?, anyway it doesn’t move “varnish” , id be surprised if seafoam does, gentlemen I propose an experiment!
Always up for a good experiment. Will give the sea foam a try. Already got a bottle of the stuff so will see what happens ... fingers crossed
